Recently visited for the spa day with 1hr treatment and afternoon tea. Spa facilities are some of the best I've ever been to. The hydro pool was a highlight, especially as we visited on a cold, crisp winter's day! Everything was spotlessly clean, and the staff were a credit to the hotel - everyone from the spa receptionist to the cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea was lovely too. Would definitely recommend for a spa day.

We stayed at the Bowfield Hotel and Spa for an overnight, we really enjoyed our stay.

The rooms were nice and fairly spacious. The hotel really impressed in terms of service, when checking in we found the staff to be very friendly, informative and enthusiastic.

The breakfast was also excellent with a great choice of juices, great choice of hot food (including square sausage and potato scone) as well as cereal, bread and pastries. The service in the restaurant was also very good. We often find nowadays that many hotels are working understaffed with poor service but found this not to be the case at the Bowfield.

The pool area was one of the best I’ve experienced in the local area, the sauna and steam room were great as well as the pool area which was clean and relaxing.

Would definitely visit again.

The staff were as friendly and helpful as could be but the price does not reflect the value.
The spa is lovely but over run by locals and kids which resulted in long waits for the hot tub and steam and a noisy pool.
The "double bed" is two beds pushed together, this ruins the romance as your still in seperate beds, they are also very squeaky, the rooms lack amenities like AC, fridge, seperate shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
Could hear the room next doors TV late at night and early in the morning.
The food was however really nice, the breakfast buffet is probably one of the best ive ever had but our evening meal took around 2 hours from start to finish for 3 courses including long waits for drinks (even soft drinks that needed no mixing). Would definitely stay again but not for the price we paid.

I attend the spa days a couple of times a year with my sister, always a lovely day out. On a few occasions we have upgraded the afternoon tea to the lunch as we’re not fans of afternoon tea. We have noticed that the lunch menu hasn’t changed the past few years and now has become a tad boring as we don’t want to be eating the same thing every time. Our last visit which was Jan 2025 we plumped for the gnocchi, it was awful, overcooked with a consistency of glue sitting on a bed of salty kale, we didn’t eat it. When the waitress came to clear our plates she said nothing when she saw the full plates. We should have complained but didn’t. Equally she should have asked why we didn’t eat. Will go back for the spa day as it’s a lovely day out but won’t eat in the restaurant again. Chef please take a look at your menu and consider changing!

I was a photographer here shooting a wedding 8th November and a meal was "placed at the bar" for me. Not only was the food amazing the service was outstanding. Really professional younger members of staff considering their young age (compared to me). The wedding coordinator also was amazing on the day. Great place definitely visit even for the food

Just returned from a great stay at the Bowfield and I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel, its staff, food and its facilities.||After having to change the dates of our stay at short notice them change back the reception staff (Diane and Megan) couldn’t be anymore helpful and nothing was a problem for them. We had lunch in the plumpy duck restaurant and again the staff were first class, food was great and plenty of variety.||We stayed in one of the lodges which are perfect, really clean and lovely amenities inside, hot tub are also at the lodges which were great also, reception staff arrived after 10 minutes of getting to the lodge to show us how to work the hot tub and things inside the lodge which is a nice touch.||The jewel in the crown for the Bowfield is the leisure club and spa, the place is amazing from the outside hydro pool to the swimming pool and steam room etc everything is first class, we also had spa treatments and again the spa staff were great really friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them.|||If your thinking of booking the Bowfield do it you will not be disappointed in this beautiful hotel, we cannot wait to return.

My partner and I visited for spa treatments. Very nice decor and atmosphere. Pleasantly surprised when we arrived, we were offered a tea/coffee etc. My partner took a tea, we weren’t expecting to be approached 5 minutes later with a card machine however, £3 for a tea, it was offered to us as if it was complimentary. Our treatment time was 10:40am, we were still seated in the waiting area until 10:42. When you’re paying £100 for an hour, I’d definitely expect to be on the massage table at 10:40, the massage didn’t start until around 10:50 and I was out 11:40, so I never quite got an hour of massage. I’m being pernickety but at the same time, I’m only really expecting what I paid for 🤷🏻‍♂️. The massage itself was brilliant, I must say. Very good inner calm massage, full body. Masseuse was great too. My partner got the. Pre-Natal pregnancy massage, she enjoyed it also. I would return if I’m back in the area, I’d probably request the same masseuse as she put in a real effort.

A very nice stay. Spa and lunch , evening meal and breakfast. Well maintained and clean facilities, Majority of staff polite and attentive. Food quality and ingredients very good. Room modern and clean. Spa very good service and delightful views from outdoor jacuzzi. Gym & pool facility good as well. Apart from issue of noise (room 5 avoid). Acid test , would I visit again - yes.
