At last I got to stay at Slieve Donard - it was all I'd hoped for. Lovely big room, well equipped, with seaview, really comfortable beds, pillows & linen. Bedroom & bathroom were spotlessly clean. We were able to watch the beautiful sunrise from our window.||We used the spa about 6pm (Friday) and it was quiet and very relaxing. Sadly I did notice one of the wicker chairs was badly tattered, in need of repair or removed.||Breakfast was buffet affair - I'd hoped for freshly cooked breakfast but that said the buffet food was satisfactory, the sausages were so tasty.||Staff were all lovely and I would definitely stay again.

A fantastic venue and first class customer service. |We were greeted with an unexpected room upgrade. The hotel was immaculate with its Christmas trees still up which were all superb.|Each member of staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, whether it was taking a drinks or food order, they were happy to chat. The dinner and breakfast ingredients were of top quality and again the staff were only too pleased to get it right.

Not really sure where to start. My partner and I (in our early 20’s) booked this 5* hotel for a quiet weekend. Our stay had breakfast included which was great. ||However, upon arriving at the hotel, it felt as if we were overlooked as there were older guests arriving which seemed to be offered beverages and information whilst we were offered a bare hello. Not to mention waiting at the front desk whilst a member of staff brought forward an older couple to check in who were behind us. ( maybe they didn’t see us). We were then told the hotel was at full capacity and that if wanting a quiet breakfast to go early. ( very thoughtful) I felt we were pushed aside due to being younger guests. ||When calling the receptionist to get information on the spa I was told it wasn’t in the hotel and I would have the walk outside to get there. I then redialed and was told that the elevator was just down the hall ( good thing I checked this online) ||The room was very grand but the bathroom really wasn’t that clean. Bathtub has some big chips in it making it look like there was chunks of dirt in it. Round the sink had not been cleaned. ||The breakfast next morning we waited about 15 mins (they offered tea and coffee for the wait which was understandable ) the staff at breakfast were so helpful and kind they made sure we had everything we needed. ||Definitely disappointed with the first impressions of the hotel. I would be unsure about going back.
